    Bird flu has been detected at a laying poultry farm in Grootegast (municipality of Westerkwartier, province of Groningen). 

    To prevent the spread of the virus, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature (LVVN) has decided to have the approximately 51,000 animals at the location culled by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
