Avian influenza A(H5N1)

    ° Washington State:

        § The Washington State Department of Health reported the second and  third human infection with avian influenza A(H5N1) from Yakima County.

        § The second case, who had underlying health conditions, was  hospitalised with severe illness and passed away on November 1, 2026.

        § The third case has not experienced severe illness or been hospitalised.

        § Both cases had exposure to dairy cattle infected with avian influenza  A(H5N1) virus at local dairy farms.

    ° Hubei Province:

        § A two-year-old boy with onset on September 22, 2026.

    ° Jiangxi Province:

        § A 77-year-old woman with onset on September 16, 2026.
